D2L:  General FAQs

 

Overview:

D2L (Desire2Learn) is a course management system (CMS) that provides students with a web-based environment for online course delivery and class interaction. 
 

What you need to know:

Student currently enrolled in any of the six South Dakota universities (DSU, SDSU, USD, NSU, BHSU & SDSMT) will use their BORIS ID to log into D2L.  RETRIEVE USERNAME

If you have not yet setup your BORIS account or forgot your password.  RESET BORIS ACCOUNT

D2L is accessible anywhere as long as you have access to the Internet.  Simply point your web browser to:  https://d2l.sdbor.edu
 

What device requirements do I need to access a D2L course?

In order to access a D2L course, you will need at least the required software listed in the System: D2L User Platform Requirements article.  This lists compatible operating systems, browsers, and device types.
 

Any additional software needed to access a D2L course?

If your instructor uses materials in the course that requires a browser plug-in or special software for viewing, they will provide the necessary information on how/where to acquire and install the program(s).


I am receiving a message that my account has been locked, what does this mean?

If you are receiving a message that your account has been locked, this means that you have unsuccessfully attempted to login to D2L six (6) times.  Try logging in again in 15-30 minutes.
