D2L:  Assignments FAQs

Overview:

D2L (Desire2Learn) is a course management system (CMS) that provides students with a web-based environment for online course delivery and class interaction.

How do I delete an Assignments submission?

Once a file has been successfully submitted to an assignments submission folder, you cannot delete it.  However, if you have the ability to make another submission, re-submit the file and make sure to also contact the instructor and let them know you are re-submitting a file to the assignment submission folder.

If you don’t have the ability to make another submission, contact instructor and let them know that you would like to re-submit a file to the folder.

Why are there no assignment submission folders available to submit to?

If there are no assignment submission folders available to submit to, the instructor has added a start date that has not yet happened and/or an end date that has passed.

Check the due date of the assignment you want to submit to the Assignments submission folder. If the assignment is not due yet, check back closer to the due date. Alternatively, if the assignment is late, contact your instructor with any further inquiries relating to late submissions. If you believe that you should have access to the Assignments submission folder, contact your instructor.

How do I submit to Assignments?

To submit to an assignments submission folder:

Go to the course in which you would like to submit to the Assignments.
Click Assessments, Dropbox.
Select the folder you want to submit to.
In the Submit a File area, click Add a File and browse to the file you want to submit. Click Add.
Enter any comments you want to submit with the file.
Click Submit.
Review the File Upload Results page. Click Done.

How do I confirm that a submission was made to an assignments submission folder?

To confirm that a submission was made:

Access the course and the assignments submission folder you submitted to.

If you see that 1 submission has been made, and you can select the submission and see the file, then the file has been submitted successfully.

Tip: You can also check the inbox of your associated email account to see if you received a Submission receipt from the course and assignment submission folder you submitted to.

Why am I getting an “Error: Not Authorized” message when trying to access an assignment submission folder?

The reason you are getting an “Error: Not Authorized” message when trying to access an assignment submission folder is because the link to the assignment submission folder is available in the Content tool module area but the assignment submission folder has been closed. Contact your instructor for further help with accessing this assignment submission folder.
