KMS Activation: Student Virtual Machine Environment

KMS Activation:  Student Virtual Machine Environment

Overview:

The Microsoft KMS servers can be used by DSU students, staff and faculty who have a project requiring a licensed copy of Microsoft Windows that will be used on campus.  The key server requires a check in once every 30 days and will disable your product after 3 consecutive missed check-ins. This should not be used as a license for the main operating system of any computer that frequently leaves campus or leaves campus for long periods of time.

Before you begin:

Limited support will be provided for OS’s in a test or VM environment.  If your project or test environment is a graded class project or assignment, report activation issues to the Support Desk.  Questions about KMS Activation, please contact your instructor.

Who can use:

Students or faculty installing the Windows OS on a non-domain virtual machine.
