Overview
Your videos, or a video you are attempting to view, may be sent to your site's Archive. In this article, you will learn how to restore content that has been archived.
Note: Restoring a video can take up to 72 hours, but will typically complete within 48 hours.
1. Restore Archived Content from Search
Please note: When a video is archived, the permissions are kept intact, and as such, Viewers will only be able to see the archived videos they have access to and must be authenticated in order to view them. There is an automatic hold on re-archiving restored videos, which lasts 30 days from the time of the video's restoration. When a session is restored from an archive, it gets a 30-day grace period where it's available to be viewed or modified. The session won't be subject to any retention policies or automated actions until after the most recent 30-day grace period has expired. This means its eventual re-archiving or deletion will be postponed as long as it's being actively viewed.
1.1. If you are searching your Panopto site, you can include archived videos in your search by selecting the Include Archived videos icon, which looks like a file box, in the search filters (Fig. 1). Note: By default, this checkbox will be deselected.
