  • How to install apps (Outlook) using Mobile Application Management from Intune for Aplle iOS Devices

 

Overview

DO NOT BEGIN ENROLLMENT WITHOUT THE INFORMATION BELOW:
▪Your device needs to be on Android 12.0 or higher (please update to the most current version before beginning).
▪Know your DSU login credentials and password.

Mobile Application Management (MAM) through Intune offers substantial benefits for both DSU and employees. For DSU, Intune's MAM ensures enhanced security by allowing ITS staff to control and protect corporate data within mobile apps without managing the entire device. This means increased data privacy and compliance adherence. For employees, MAM enhances productivity by enabling seamless access to corporate apps while maintaining the privacy of personal data. Overall, Intune's MAM empowers businesses to achieve their security and productivity goals while providing employees with flexibility and convenience.

Resolution
  1. Go to the App Store and install Microsoft Authenticator App.

  2. Open the Authenticator App.

  3. Click Accept on the privacy statement.

  4. On the help us improve Microsoft Authenticator screen. leave the radio button off for sharing usage and select to continue.
     
  5. On the next screen you’ll select the “add work or school account” option.
     
  6. You’ll be brought to a Microsoft sign-in screen. Use your @dsu.edu mail address and select next.
     
  7. You’ll be taken to a DSU ADFS sign in screen. Your email should be prefilled, enter your network password and select Sign in.
     
  8. Once signed in, the device should prompt you for DUO MFA.
     
  9. You can select the <AUTHENTICATOR at the top left to navigate back after the DUO prompt. You may be prompted to allow Biometrics or other settings you have on your device. You can allow these.
     
  10. You should now see the locked Authenticator screen. Select unlock.
     
  11. Confirm that this is your Device.
     
  12. From this point you can select finish. You’ll go to the Authenticator home screen and be able to see your enrollment. This app brokers the communication between DSU and your apps accessing DSU resources. You can close out of this app now.
     
  13. Next, you’ll want to restart your Outlook app on your phone if you were already using it to access your DSU email. If you’ve already had it installed, you may be prompted to re-sign back in and verify using MFA. You can then skip to “Check if your device is setup correctly” section. If you don’t have Outlook installed, please continue.
     
  14. Go to the App Store and install the Microsoft Outlook app.
     
  15. Open the Outlook App on your Device.
     
  16. One you open the app you’ll be prompted to add an account. Select Add Account.
     
  17. Your @dsu.edu email address / account may have prefilled from the account linked in Authenticator. Select the add Account option after confirming.
     
  18. You should be taken to the Outlook inbox from here.
     
  19. As the account syncs, you should then receive a pop-up prompt to set a PIN for your Outlook account if you don’t already have one set. This can be the same as your current device PIN or different. It just needs to follow the requirements prompted on screen.
     
  20. Confirm PIN.
     
  21. From your inbox you can select your profile icon in the top left. This should pull up a side pane. On the bottom left you should see a gear cog for Settings.
     
  22. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you should see a Privacy Settings option, select it.
     
  23. You should see your DSU account listed as the Primary and that this app is being managed by your company administrator.
