FAQs

How often do I need to log into my courses? Do I need to attend my online courses at certain times? It is recommended to login to your courses every school day, but the time of day you login is all up to you! Online coursework can be completed at any hour of the day. There is no set time for you to be in front of your computer.

How many of my previous credits will transfer to DSU? Use our transfer equivalency calculator to estimate how much of your previous coursework will transfer. This database lists courses that have been previously transferred to DSU and should only be used as an initial reference for transfer equivalencies. An official transfer evaluation will be completed upon your acceptance to the University and receipt of final official transcripts. You can find policies on transfer credits in the catalog.

I have submitted my application. How long before I hear back if I am accepted? Students are typically accepted within two weeks of submitting their application. Log back into the DSU Application Portal to view if you are missing any application requirements. You will not be accepted until receipt of official transcripts.

I am applying and have transcripts from other institutions. Where should I send the transcripts? Many institutions send transcripts electronically. Transcripts can also be sent to DSU Admissions 820 North Washington Ave, Madison, SD 57042. Official transcripts must be sent to DSU directly from the institution.

In addition to getting a jump start on completing both degrees, the program will also save you money. Up to nine credits of graduate course work will count toward your undergraduate and graduate degree. The 4+1 Program is specifically for certain full-time undergraduate and graduate programs.

My application has been accepted. When can I register? Complete the Registration Form to get the process started. This process involves DSU staff creating your login information, completing your official transcript evaluation (if applicable), as well as a placement report for general education requirements in Math/English/Reading. The Office of Online Education will email you the evaluation reports as soon as they are completed, so you can register with the assistance of your advisor. You will not be able to register until the reports are completed and your advisor releases your advising hold.

How do I set up my DSU accounts? After your acceptance to DSU, an email is sent to you about setting up your DSU accounts. If you have not received the account set up email, check your junk/spam or deleted messages in the email you gave DSU on your application. Try searching no-reply@dsu.edu to locate. Please note: If you already have DSU accounts, you will not receive the Account Setup email. You can request a new verification code for a forgotten password or expired account. If you are having an issue with any of your campus accounts and/or accessing available systems, report an account issue.

How much is online course tuition? Online courses are billed by the credit hour at DSU. Check out our online tuition rates.
