How To: Access and Use the Power Cyber Lab (PCL)

To log in, browse to the website https://pcl.dsu.edu/

The login page should look similar to this

From here, log in with your DSU username and password DSU Network Password.

Special Notes: If you receive “Invalid Credentials” Make sure that you have access (i.e.: you will receive this error logging into the Learn environment if you are not in any classes). Make sure you are using your DSU username to log in not your email. If you are unsure of your username you can find it by logging in here using your email address (https://apps.dsu.edu/dsu-account/login.aspx)

In the upper right corner hit the Switch Environment drop down and select the environment you want. Your list may look different based on the environments you have access to. If you are not sure which environment you should be using ask your instructor as they will switch depending on the class you are in. 

Once you are logged in and connected to the correct environment select the lab you want to access from the list on the left side 

This should load the VMs in the selected lab you can now power on the VMs by clicking the start button. 

Once the VMs are powered on you can open the VM console by clicking on the console window ( This may be a screenshot of the VM or the text "A screenshot isn't available")

To gain internet access you will need to authenticate to the captive portal. This can be done by opening a web browser inside of your VM and navigating to http://captive.pcl.dsu.edu 

Once the page has loaded you will log in with the same username and password you use to log in to the PCL. 

Special Notes:

• Not all labs will have internet access. 
• If your lab has multiple VMs in it make sure all VMs are powered on as it is likely that one of the other VMs is acting as a router for the lab. 
• If the page is not loading correctly you may have to refresh the page a few times.
