DO NOT BEGIN ENROLLMENT WITHOUT THE INFORMATION BELOW:
▪ Your device needs to be on iOS/iPadOS 15.0 or higher (please update to the most current version before beginning).
▪ Know your DSU login credentials and password.

Installing Authenticator – Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to the App Store and install Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Open the Authenticator App.
- Click Accept on the privacy statement.
- On the help us improve Microsoft Authenticator screen. leave the radio button off for sharing usage and select to continue.
- On the next screen you’ll select the “add work or school account” option.
- You will be brought to a Microsoft sign-in screen. Use your @dsu.edu mail address and select Next.
- You will be taken to a DSU ADFS sign in screen.
- Your email should be pre filled, enter your network password and select Sign in.
- Once signed in, the device should prompt you for DUO MFA.
- You can select the <AUTHENTICATOR at the top left to navigate back after the DUO prompt. You may be prompted to allow Biometrics or other settings you have on your device. You can allow these.
- You should now see the locked Authenticator screen. Select Unlock.
- Confirm that this is your Device.
- From this point you can select Finish. You’ll go to the Authenticator home screen and be able to see your enrollment. This app brokers the communication between DSU and the applications accessing DSU resources. You can close out of this app now.
- Next, you’ll want to restart your Outlook app on your phone if you were already using it to access your DSU email. If you’ve already had it installed, you may be prompted to re-sign back in and verify using MFA. You can then skip to “Check if your device is setup correctly” section. If you don’t have Outlook installed, please continue.
Installing Outlook – Step-by-Step Instructions
- Go to the App Store and install Microsoft Outlook app.
- Open the Outlook app on your device.
- Once you open the app you’ll be prompted to add an account. Select Add Account.
- Your @dsu.edu email address / account may have pre filled from the account linked in Authenticator. Select the Add Account option after confirming.
- You should be taken to the Outlook inbox from here.
- As the account syncs, you should then receive a pop-up prompt to set a PIN for your Outlook account if you don’t already have one set. This can be the same as your current device PIN or different. It just needs to follow the requirements prompted on screen.
- Confirm PIN.
Checking if Your Device is Setup Correctly
- From your inbox you can select your profile icon in the top left. This should pull up a side pane. On the bottom left you should see a gear cog for Settings
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you should see a Privacy Settings option, select it
- You should see your DSU account listed as the Primary and that this app is being managed by your company administrator.
