  • What is KnowBe4 and is it safe?

 

Overview

Dakota State University utilizes KnowBe4 to provide security awareness training for all faculty/staff. KnowBe4 security awareness training is required to be completed within 48 hours of an employee's start date. In addition to the provided training, ITS will conduct simulated phishing campaigns and provide additional training for users that click links within the simulated emails.

Additional training may be required or requested as needed to meet changing security requirements.

 

Environment

  • A welcome email will be sent to your DSU email address on your start day, the email will contain a direct link to the training.

  • Training topics include:

    • FERPA

    • HIPAA

    • PCI DSS

    • PII

    • Phishing

 

Resolution

  1. KnowBe4 is legitimate cybersecurity awareness training sent on behalf of DSU.

  2. KnowBe4 email messages will come from do-not-reply@training.knowbe4.com

  3. Training will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete and must be completed within 48 hours of start date.
