Overview
Eduroam is a secure and worldwide roaming access service that lets educators, researchers, and others in higher education instantly log on to Wi-Fi at participating schools. The service is available campus-wide.
Who should use eduroam?
- All students, faculty or staff who are visiting from another SDBOR institution and have a valid campus/school email address. Those include BHSU, NSU, SDSU, SDSM&T, USD and SDBOR/RIS employees.
- Visiting faculty, staff, students from participating eduroam* institutions.

- Click eduroam in the wireless network list
- Click Connect
- Type your university/institutional email address for the username and enter your password
- Click Connect
- If the connection is successful, the available networks will show "Connected" on the network you joined and signal strength will be displayed in the icon in your taskbar
Mac OS
- In the Menu Bar at the top right of your screen, select the Wifi icon
- Select the eduroam Wifi Network
- Enter your credentials:
- Your university email address and password
- You will see a Verify Certificate notification, click Continue.
- If the connection is successful, the available networks will show "Connected" on the network you joined and signal strength will be displayed in the icon ion your menu bar
Android
- Swipe down from you home screen, and select the the gear located in the bottom right corner.
- Select Wi-Fi
- Select eduroam Network
- Enter your credentials:
- Your university email address and password
- Then select Connect.
iOS
- Open settings
- Open Wi-Fi Settings
- Select eduroam Wi-Fi Network
- Enter your credentials:
- Your university email address and password
- Select Trust when provided the Certificate
