I'm Accepted, Now What?

Summary

A guide for the steps that happen between acceptance and registration for new online students. All steps must be completed before new students are able to register.

Body

Once accepted as a DSU online student, a few steps need to happen before you are able to register. Here's what’s next:

  1. If you have transfer work, the Registrar's Office creates an official credit evaluation report. This can be a lengthy process, but no further action is needed from you unless the Registrar's Office reaches out directly for additional information.
  2. The Testing Office creates a placement report to let your advisor know if you need to take Math, Reading, or English. You will be notified if placement testing is required.
  3. Set up your DSU accounts. DSU emailed you instructions for setting up your passwords and accessing your accounts. Go to ITS Support Desk for assistance. See below for more account access trouble shooting.
  4. The Admission's office emails your evaluation and placement reports directly to you once they are complete.
  5. Then, you will be able to work with an advisor to set up a schedule to register for the upcoming semester. Your advisor will need to release your advising hold before you can register.

Account Issues?

If you have not received the account set up email, check your junk/spam or deleted messages in the email you gave DSU on your application. Try searching no-reply@dsu.edu to locate. Go to ITS Support Desk for assistance. Please note, if you already have DSU accounts, you will not receive the Account Setup email. You can request a new verification code for a forgotten password or expired account. You will also need to set up Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when setting up your accounts.
