Reset BORIS Account Password- All Users



BORIS (Board of Regents Identity System):  this account gives you access to the SDBoR services used by all universities in the SD system including:  MyDSU Portal, WebAdvisor, Starfish and ImageNow.



New and re-admitted students starting Summer 2019 will NOT receive a BORIS account.  New students will receive an email notification prior to Fall 2019 start on how to authenticate to MyDSU portal when this is available.  Registered students, please continue to watch your DSU email inbox for this notification.



What are the password requirements?

Password Requirements

1.    Passwords must be at least 6 characters long.

2.    Passwords can NOT be more than 14 characters long. *

3.    Password must contain a number.

4.    Passwords can NOT use a special character.

* NOTE:  Passwords that contain more the 14 characters are not recognized for all BORIS systems.

How do I change my password?

Go to the MyDSU link on the DSU homepage.

Under “Trouble Logging In?”, click Reset your Passwordoption.

Under the heading “Reset My BORIS Password”, click the Reset Passwordbox.

Enter Your Last Name and Student ID number or BORIS Username.  Click “Retrieve my information” button.

Choose your DSU email account from the drop-down list and click “Send me a link to reset my password”.

Log into your DSU email account and open email and click the link provided.

Enter your BORIS Username and create new password (please refer to requirements above), click Reset My Password once password is acceptable and strong.

You are now ready to login with your BORIS account.



If user can log into D2L & WebAdvisor but cannot log into the MyDSU portal, be sure that your password was not set to be more than the 15 character limit.
