Passwords should be
changed regularly, usually every few months. Changing passwords can
minimize the possibility of stolen passwords being used by others.

A good password should
contain at least eight alphanumeric characters. Short passwords are
easy to crack.

Avoid words that can be
found in a dictionary.

Avoid words that can be
easily guessed, such as names of family members, pets, friends,
co-workers, etc.

Use both upper and lower
case characters in your passwords.

If allowed, use mix digits
and punctuation characters in your passwords.

Don't reveal a password
over the phone to anyone.

Don't talk about a
password in front of others

Do not use the "Remember
Password" feature of application, such as email tools or Web site
login. Instead, enter your password every time you login.
